There are numerous statues of Sir John A. Macdonald across Canada. The statue in Kingston's City Park is a full-length bronze depiction of Sir John A. Macdonald in Privy Councilor's robes, carrying a document in his hand. Artist George Edward Wade sculpted the piece in 1895 and it was cast by Singer & Sons Founders. The statue was unveiled on October 23, 1895. Mounted on a granite plinth, it is engraved with the words "A British subject I was born, A British subject I will die."
