Designed by famed architect George Brown and now a National Historic Site, Kingston's majestic City Hall was completed in 1844. Even today City Hall commands the Kingston skyline. In 1891, Sir John A. Macdonald lay-in-state in its Memorial Hall after his death on June 6 of that year in Ottawa.
