Since 1930, British High Commissioners to Canada have had to learn a great deal about Sir John A. Macdonald. After all, Macdonald's former home, Earnscliffe in Ottawa, and the site of his death on June 6, 1891, is the Official Residence of the British High Commissioner to Canada. The current holder of the office, Howard Drake, joined Kingstonians at City Hall on January 11, 2015 to commemorate Sir John A.'s 200th birthday.
